NLP is an approach to communication, personal development and psychotherapy
in which connections are made between neurological processes, language , and behavioral patterns learned through experience (“programming”). The process involves methods of influencing brain behaviour (neuro) through the use of language (linguistic) and other types of communication to enable a person to “recode” the way the brain responds to stimuli (programming) and manifest new and better behaviours. Neuro-Linguistic Programming often incorporates hypnosis and self-hypnosis to help achieve the changes (or “programming”) that are desired.
By learning how to model your feelings, thoughts and behaviour in specific situations either on yourself as you already respond in other situations or on other people who you perceive to respond optimally in those situations, you can positively revolutionise the way your think, feel and behave.

Unlike many other types of therapy there is minimal (if any) conscious focus on previous negative past events – as such you do not have to ‘re-live’ or experience traumatic events of your past. Instead the therapeutic process will allow your unconscious mind to acknowledge significant events/ people or factors without you actually consciously experiencing the negative factors associated. This will enable you to move forwards with positively having acknowledged the existence of contributory past factors without actually going into the details of these factors.
