MYERS BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR (MBTI)

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a psychometric tool based on the personality theories of Carl Jung (Swiss psychologist). There is an in depth questionnaire to fill out in advance of your session. This will take approximately 1 hour and there are no ‘trick’ questions. You simply answer all questions honestly and according to what your own personal preferences are to each scenario being described. The questionnaire and its findings are confidential and your learnings will be for you to share with as many or as few people as you wish.

A great deal of research has been carried out in developing the latest version of the MBTI system, most notably by a mother and daughter pair Katherine Briggs and Isabel Myers in the first part of the 20th century – they believed if people could understand each others’ differences better then perhaps wars could be avoided. This is one of the few personality typing systems that describes each difference positively and it is the most widely used personality type and talent development tool in the world.

The questionnaire is designed to help you gain a better understanding of your own personality. It explores 4 main areas of your preferences:

• The way in which you gather information and the types of information your tend to trust
• Your preferred decision making style
• Your response to the world around you
• The way in which you re-charge and gain your energy (From the external world or from within yourself)

The process will help you learn about yourself in terms of your own personality type and preferences and understand how this fits in to the current framework of your personal and professional life. You will also learn to appreciate and understand differences that exist between people and learn how to live / work together synergistically, in a way that enables you to complement each other.

The main areas of your life that this can benefit are:
• Personal development
• Understanding your reaction to stress
• Career development
• Conflict resolution
• Your working relationships
• Your personal relationships – MBTI can truly revolutionise your relationships with loved ones.

There are over 4000 international research papers…
confirming the validity of the MBTI. All differences are described positively and there are no better or worse types – all of the types have strengths and pitfalls. MBTI is not used to measure skill or ability – the key is PREFERENCE

MBTI can be used to great effect for you as an individual to help you in your personal and professional life. As a couple it can be invaluable in helping you to understand each other better and to appreciate why you may each behave in specific habitual ways that differ from each other.

As a team you can gain a great deal from each individually carrying out the MBTI tool. The findings and learnings will help you to understand eachother’s needs and behaviours much better in order to optimise your working synergy and achieve the best results you can.

At Be You At Your Best the number one focus is on YOU and helping you to achieve the best results possible. Why not book in for your free initial telephone consultation to find out if this is the right thing for you and to learn more about what you could hope to achieve .
