Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS

IBS can cause ongoing symptoms of pain, cramping, gas, diarrhea, constipation and nausea.  The general incidence of IBS is increasing year on year and despite  very extensive medical research they have been unable to identify a biological cause in many cases.  There is however increasing evidence that a person’s emotional status, in terms of anxiety, stress or depression, can exacerbate the severity and frequency of IBS symptoms.  Hypnotherapy is now recognised and recommended by NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) as an effective form of treatment for IBS.

Stress and anxiety cause certain chemical reactions within your body that can manifest themselves as the symptoms of IBS, so treatment for IBS using hypntherapy is aimed at managing the feelings of stress and anxiety at source, thus preventing them for eliciting the physical symptoms of IBS.

Therapeutic treatment is generally carried out over around 6 sessions spread out over a period of 3-4 months, and will help you to feel physically more relaxed, mentally calmer, and with a much greater sense of health, vitality and physical wellbeing.  You will learn how to control your condition yourself by gaining the skills to control your own emotional state and reducing feelings and thoughts of stress and anxiety.

At Be You At Your Best the number one focus is on YOU and helping you to achieve the best results possible. Why not book in for your free initial telephone consultation to find out if this is the right thing for you and to learn more about what you could hope to achieve.
